All of our products must meet one or more of the following criteria:

Ground Up Green: We select companies that have always had an environmentally- friendly mission and products, not conventional brands that have spun an eco line to hop on the band- wagon.

The Closer the Better: We strive to find companies that make their products as close to our headquarters as possible to cut down on shipping fuel and support local economy. That isn’t always possible being that we’re in rural Eastern North Carolina! Sure we’ve had to branch out to find products to California and even Thailand. But we’re sticklers about one thing our products must be…

Made Fairly: By providing fair wages and good working conditions we know that no matter where our products come from the people who make them are treated with human respect. We love it when the headquarters are located where the product is manufactured or has a Fair Trade Certification. But at the very least we make sure that each company we buy from oversees the manufacturing on a regular basis.

Organic: Whether it’s cotton, hemp or herbs; it simply means that no synthetic chemicals were used in the growing process. This not only reduces human exposure, but it reduces run off into streams and bodies of water.

Natural: A product made from materials or ingredients found in nature.

Sustainable: Meeting the needs of today without causing harm to future human and natural environments.

Recycled: Something that would normally be thrown away gets made into something else, saving a piece of the planet that normally may have been taken up by trash. This takes the saying “from trash to treasure” to a whole new level; you should see some of the amazing things artists can do with “trash”!

Re-purposed: An object being used for something other than its’ intended use.

Cradle to Cradle: A product that is fully recyclable.
